How Radiant Barrier Works
Radiation is one of the biggest methods of heat lost or gained by your home.  Radiant barrier blocks up to
95%
of this heat transfer.  When radiant barrier is installed in a house attic or attached to the roof rafters in a commercial building, it will block 95% of the radiant heat from the sun from entering the home or building. This keeps the attic space cooler during the summer which reduces the amount of energy the air conditioner must use to cool down the house or building.  In the winter, radiant barrier reflects radiant heat back towards the interior of the home, which in turn reduces the amount of energy required to heat the home.
